Around 2005, the CIA embarked on a secretive project to create a custom-made action figure resembling Osama bin Laden. This doll, was named as “Devil Eyes,” was one of 3 prototypes designed by Donald Levine. The face of the figure was painted with a heat-dissolving material, intended to reveal a red-faced bin Laden with demonic features, including piercing green eyes and black facial markings.

The CIA reportedly considered using these figurines as a psychological tool to deter support for bin Laden and al Qaeda among Afghanistan children and their parents. However, the plan never materialized beyond the prototype stage.

However, do note that the action figure concept was suggested but ultimately rejected by the CIA before it progressed beyond the prototype phase. To this day, only three individual action figures were ever made, serving merely as representations of what a finished product could resemble. Upon reviewing these prototypes, the CIA opted not to proceed with the idea and did not manufacture or distribute any of these action figures. Also, the CIA is unaware of any production or distribution of these action figures by other parties.

According to the Washington Post, two of the action figures are currently held by either the CIA or the Pentagon. However, the third one is being put up for auction by Nate D. Sanders Auctions, with the event scheduled for November 20, 2014, as mentioned in a statement from the auction house. The bidding for this item started at $2,500.

The action figure wears Osama bin Laden’s familiar long white robe and includes two different heads. One head portrays his well-known face with a long black beard and white turban, representing him as the leader of al-Qaeda. The other head presents him as a demon, with red skin, spooky green “Devil Eyes,” and black facial markings.
