However, not all movies on ancient Egypt history are completely true. Still, that doesn’t mean that all of them are made up. Some moviemakers have gone to great lengths to ensure that they depict events as they took place. Let’s find out about some such historically accurate movies about ancient Egypt below.

1.  Cleopatra (1963)

This is an American epic drama film based on the 1957 book The Life and Times of Cleopatra. The film, starring Elizabeth Taylor, is based on real histories by Greek and Roman philosophers and historians. These include Plutarch, Suetonius Tranquillis and Appian of Alexandria.

This movie was a result of a lot of time and effort. It portrays the life of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra perfectly.

4.  Faraon (1966)

Faraon or Pharaoh is an old film that depicts the pharaoh quite realistically. The movie shows a power struggle that takes place between the temple priest and Rameses XIII. He would be assuming the throne of the poverty-ridden Egypt.

When Samlak and his daughter Makeda go to Amenes, Ramphis, the son of Sothis, finds Makeda’s Greek slave. Sothis was Amene’s master builder.

The rest of the story is all about battle. The movie portrays the scenes of battle preparation and the battle accurately. The complete version of this film was lost for quite many years.
